Helping Organisation for People Environment and Animal Trust – Aurangabad

There were several complaints of possible rabies cases due to dog bites in the rural areas around Aurangabad. The HOPE team stepped in with the aid of the CHAL grant for timely intervention. They too conducted both ABC-AR and solely Anti-rabies vaccination drives in Paithan, Shirdhi and Palsi regions. Media coverage was very positive and the people were encouraged to bring to attention pockets of dogs that the HOPE staff could take care of. Some takeaway from their camps were that it is crucial for people to unlearn the falsehoods surrounding street animals and then re-learn the working solutions centered around ABC-AR.

Just Be Friendly – JBF(India) Trust – Guwahati, Assam

Amid challenging conditions, the JBF team planned and organized ABC-AR drives in Digaru and Sonapur while coordinating process improvements and facilities construction including post-operative care room and rehab center. JBF is promoting its dream project – JIRAW (JBF Integrated Care and Resource Centre for Animal Welfare) to expand its animal welfare activities in the North-Eastern region of the country. This will have a huge impact towards their Rabies-free initiative. In addition to surgeries, a mass vaccination drive was conducted both door-to-door and community wide.

The team has expressed its heartfelt gratitude to CHAL for much-needed support for both ABC-AR and community outreach efforts.

Blue Cross of India, Chennai

The Blue Cross of India, Chennai organization once again had a very busy year with a record number of ABC surgeries performed in addition to the extensive rescue and rehab work they do across the wider Chennai area. They have worked with other smaller NGOs to help them set up protocols and organize for their own ABC-AR drives. The CHAL board gets inundated with individual donor requests to specifically support BCI activities, and we are as always proud to partner with them!
